  • presentation of the editor

« There are novels with publication resounds terrifically with actuality, feeling that the text was written under the fire of events. Les échoués, first fiction of Pascal Manoukian, could be the book dedicated to these refugees who are seen every day on our screens. […] except that Les échoués the story is not what takes place today. This novel takes place twenty-three years ago! It amazing - extraordinary power of literature - is that it would not be necessary to change a word to include what takes place under our eyes? Everything is said with an extreme precision and correctness. By what force? Pascal Manoukian gives names to these persons, and it changes everything.»
