Aged 37, Emmanuel Sabatié is a sociologist, author of a study on the harkis' identity. In 2005 he published a collection of short stories, Cercle, awarded by the Prize of the Mediterranean writers.

"Quick ! Run ... Do not turn around ... Do not think of anything more ... Forward again and run even faster! escape the devils and hell! Hold up for them: Zohra, and Brahim Abdel ... For the enemy is everywhere ! Hurry ! Do not stop ... Take a breath, breathe and take up ones race against time ... Flee to the front ... Always forward ... escape from the enemy who lurks there, at the next street corner, under the mask of any face: this chibani sitting on a bench or the Moorish woman with a bag too heavy for her. The enemy is a jackal that sniffs you from a distance and follows your trail in expecting only one thing: to end your little of bastard and traitor !

It's hot this summer. Very hot in Algeria ... Summer of 1962 ... When the demons and hell are everywhere !

When Algeria becomes a purgatory for harkis and the night is frightening ... Then you would have done the same as Abdelkader, Benyoucef, Hamed and all the others. You would have fled to your end.

A hallucinated and hallucinating novel on a killing erased by history." (Introduction for the editor)
