I left the Pigalle district, with its prostitutes and its neon lights, its sex shops and junkies, for a warehouse in the heart of Lower East Side. New York was the place where people came not to live or to realize their dreams but to invent the dreams they did not have. Driven by the same desire, the same will, they all ended up like each other. Impossible not to find a waitress who did not dream of turning a Woody Allen or a Ridley Scott, to go out with Colin Farrell or do a duet with Mariah Carey, Beyoncé or Gwen Stefani.

Young Frenchman settled in New York, Eric lives his American Dream. Waiter in a bar, he meets Mick Bowery, writer, former rock critic who knew Bob Dylan, Lou Reed and many others. Mick and Eric discover a shared passion for Leonard Cohen, who Mick had known at the time of the Chelsea Hotel. How can the poetry of a singer seduce a young Frenchman? Eric does not know, but one day discovers by chance that his own father, a discret and almost non existant man, up to his recent death also listened to Leonard Cohen ...

A novel based in New York city after Sept. 11, New York Fantasy is also a novel about the filiation and transmission. (Presentation by the publisher)
