Biography

Work sponsored by Maria Rus Bojan, Director of Project Foundation Amsterdam, Netherlands Monument to the end of the world is an installation presenting a wooden model of a city under construction.A bell is hung on a crane which rings in the air stirred by a fan. Using the representation of a model of the Korean city, Busan, Mircea Cantor refers to the utopian speculations of urban development particularly representative of the evolution of the runaway cities in China and South Korea. Through this work, the artist points to the urgent need for awareness of the process of the disintegration of our planet.
