Work sponsored by Marc-Olivier Walher, Director of the Palais de Tokyo, Paris

"Patman 2 is a sculpture composed of yellow coloured soy noodles, evoking a "species" of living beings, a little primitive."

Michel Blazy is the artist of living matter and rot. His organic compositions are the mortuary theatre of consumer products of our society. By exploring the alteration of materials, mold, the artist builds fragile ephemeral installations, worlds of plastic where the shifting notion of time is a key concern. Vanity dog biscuits, noodles, soy sculptures or other "soft nature" made of fruit and vegetables are treated by Michel Blazy with humor and tragedy.

The work was presented during 2007 at the Palais de Tokyo as part of an exhibition devoted to the artist.
