Gaspard-Marie Janvier is a writer. Passionate about literature and Western philosophy, he lives in retirement in the countryside. For many years, he has observed with an ironic eye the changing ways of his contemporaries. His style, on the one hand erudite, insightful and sarcastic, adds a literary value to his texts beyond the topics and opinions which are treated. Rapide essai de théologie automibile is his first published book.

"Rather than going shopping every Sunday at theshopping centre a man returned to his solitude by hisdivorce decides to go to mass. For a year, this skeptic formed by the most Cartesian discipline does not miss this weekly appointment. When he gets back home, he writes down in a diary his thoughts, reactions and emotions. What began as a simple Sunday chronicle increasingly threatened by commercial proselytizing becomes an adventure in a great spiritual and carnal novel. A conversion that is not one we believe. Trained in mathematics, a lover of philosophy and literature, Gaspard-Marie Janvier observes the evolution of morals and describes in a clairvoyant ironic style the return to our world of a pagan routine. After Rapide essai de théologie automobile, he is interested in the Sunday's affair, and what it reveals of human relations in an era that methodically defeats all human ties." (Editor's note)
