In Sokcho, a small port town near North Korea, a young Franco-Korean girl who has never been to Europe meets a cartoonist who has come to seek inspiration from her native Normandy. It is winter, the cold slows everything down, the fish can be poisonous, the bodies painful, misunderstandings suspended, and the ink flows on paper, relentless: a fragile bond is formed between these two beings with so different cultures. This delicate novel, like the snow on the foam, transports the reader into a world of rare richness and originality, with a powerful atmosphere.
