The Musical Composition Prize

Desirous to support and encourage musical creation, the Prince Pierre Foundation of Monaco awards, since 1960, the Musical Composition Prize to the composer of a recent musical work.

As of 2012, The Musical Composition Prize will be awarded every three years and is allocated the prize of 45,000 € uros.

In addition, the Prince Pierre Foundation of Monaco and the SOGEDA request an original work created in Monaco.

The Musical Composition Prize is proposed after deliberation of the Musical Council chaired by Betsy Jolas .

A first selection is established by members of the Musical Council from a list of works created in the previous year and proposed by the Editors.

This Prize is not subject to a candidature.

The list of works created in 2010 pre-selected for the Musical Composition Prize in 2012 will be available as from June 2011.
